I had been to Madam Kwans @ Mid Valley megamall a few times and I' have tried the Nasi Lemak, Nasi Bojari, Char Koay Teow & Wa Tan Ho.

The Nasi Lemak and Nasi Bojari seem to be the only good mains there, the other choices are so-so only. I personally love the Nasi Bojari.

The foods are rather expensive and overpriced.

I grown up in this house…. Every time I balik kampong, it remind me on my childhood things.

This green field was my badminton court. I play it with my neighbors and brothers every evening. It was a good playground for us.

We visited Zoo Malacca on April 2011. It was great and good exercise for us. We walk 1.5 hour there.

Melaka Zoo is situated at Ayer Keroh, approximately 13 kilometres from downtown Melaka. It is the second largest zoo in Malaysia. The zoo's total area is approximately 54 acres.

It has in its possession at least 1,200 animals from more than 200 species. Melaka Zoo opened its door to the public in 1963. The major attractions of Melaka Zoo are the Malayan Gaur, Serow and the Malayan Tiger.
In line with the current zoo development, Melaka Zoo adopted an open concept and maintains the natural green environment. Melaka Zoos role is as a centre for wildlife research, conservation breeding, zoo education center and a popular tourist destination.

I heard a lots of people talk about I City Shah Alam – City of digital lights.

The place is beautiful from the outside but inside it is not well maintenance. I think it will not be able to attract any tourists to visit this place if they not maintenece it well.

VIVA Mall

We went to Viva Mall during the opening last month. This mall used to be UE3 and now they have done the complete renovation but remain the same building structure. It was like a white elephant for many years but now is a brand new mall. This new branding involves billion of dollars and creates more jobs opportunities.

It was quite crowded on that day, cooling aircond, new look and we enjoyed walking around and see what is new in there. Rachel Chew is so engrossed with the little bicycle on the floor.

Wish this mall will continue to prosper.

I am very impressed with it… it really has a great influence on her. Her kindergarten is operated by a Christian organization and they use FunGates System. Once a week they will have bible classes for Christian kids.

She has a lot of friends now as well, I guess about 10 of them and it is growing on very fast.

Well, I guess its never too early to put your child on pre-school as they tend to learn more things and be more independent.

Poor Organization.

Everyone from brides and grooms to movie studio execs are celebrating the upcoming calendrical anomaly in their own way.

In Florida, at least one county clerk's office is offering a one-day wedding special for $99.99. The rarity of this Sept. 9 hasn't been lost on the creators of the iPod, who have moved their traditional Tuesday release day to Wednesday to take advantage of the special date. Focus Features is releasing their new film "9," an animated tale about the apocalypse, on the 9th.

Not only does the date look good in marketing promotions, but it also represents the last set of repeating, single-digit dates that we'll see for almost a century (until January 1, 2101), or a millennium (mark your calendars for January 1, 3001), depending on how you want to count it.

Though technically there's nothing special about the symmetrical date, some concerned with the history and meaning of numbers ascribe powerful significance to 09/09/09.

For cultures in which the number nine is lucky, Sept. 9 is anticipated - while others might see the date as an ominous warning.

Math magic

Modern numerologists - who operate outside the realm of real science - believe that mystical significance or vibrations can be assigned to each numeral one through nine, and different combinations of the digits produce tangible results in life depending on their application.

As the final numeral, the number nine holds special rank. It is associated with forgiveness, compassion and success on the positive side as well as arrogance and self-righteousness on the negative, according to numerologists.

Though usually discredited as bogus, numerologists do have a famous predecessor to look to. Pythagoras, the Greek mathematician and father of the famous theorem, is also credited with popularizing numerology in ancient times.

"Pythagoras most of all seems to have honored and advanced the study concerned with numbers, having taken it away from the use of merchants and likening all things to numbers," wrote Aristoxenus, an ancient Greek historian, in the 4th century B.C.

As part of his obsession with numbers both mathematically and divine, and like many mathematicians before and since, Pythagoras noted that nine in particular had many unique properties.

Any grade-schooler could tell you, for example, that the sum of the two-digits resulting from nine multiplied by any other single-digit number will equal nine. So 9x3=27, and 2+7=9.

Multiply nine by any two, three or four-digit number and the sums of those will also break down to nine. For example: 9x62 = 558; 5+5+8=18; 1+8=9.

Sept. 9 also happens to be the 252nd day of the year (2 + 5 +2)...

Loving 9

Both China and Japan have strong feelings about the number nine. Those feelings just happen to be on opposite ends of the spectrum.

The Chinese pulled out all the stops to celebrate their lucky number eight during last year's Summer Olympics, ringing the games in at 8 p.m. on 08/08/08. What many might not realize is that nine comes in second on their list of auspicious digits and is associated with long life, due to how similar its pronunciation is to the local word for long-lasting (eight sounds like wealth).

Historically, ancient Chinese emperors associated themselves closely with the number nine, which appeared prominently in architecture and royal dress, often in the form of nine fearsome dragons. The imperial dynasties were so convinced of the power of the number nine that the palace complex at Beijing's Forbidden City is rumored to have been built with 9,999 rooms.

Japanese emperors would have never worn a robe with nine dragons, however.

In Japanese, the word for nine is a homophone for the word for suffering, so the number is considered highly unlucky - second only to four, which sounds like death.

Many Japanese will go so far as to avoid room numbers including nine at hotels or hospitals, if the building planners haven't already eliminated them altogether.

We Went to KLCC Aquaria on mederka day. It was our 1st time there with my aunty and cousins. It was a good exposure to the kids. We saw one of the shark’s was biting another shark’s ear and would not want to let it go for a very long time. Then came two divers to rescue the injured shark. Exciting, it was like watching the movie right in front of you but at another hand feel sad as the shark was in pain. Ouch!

NO camera flash is allowed signboard everywhere… Remember to bring good camera for shooting. As I do not have a good camera, the photos taken was not up to my expectation.

A good manager does not need to have all the answers, he should encourage his staff to solve problems.

If you are a manager, I am sure you think you are pretty good at your job. Some managers seem to think that they should know everything about the jobs that their team members do, and be better than them at doing it.

I can remember, in the past, working for managers like that. They gave the impression that they knew everything and were far better than I would ever be at doing my job. This, of course, did not motivate me at all.

The movitational manager accepts that members of his staff may be better at doing the job than he is. His staff may be better salesmen, better at customer service, better administrators or better engineers.

I have had salesmen working for me who were better at selling than I was. However, that did not make me less of a good manager.

Sir Alex Ferguson, the manager of probably the world’s most successful football club, Manchester United, had a pretty undistinguished career as a footballer. He did at one time play for the Glasgow Rangers but could hardly be described as a star footballer. He is now, of course a star manager.

If you manage or supervise other people, have confidence in yourself. Accept your limitations and do not feel bad if you do not initially know the answer to every question.

Ironically, your staff will not be more motivated if you come up with the answers to all of their problems or queries. Encourage your staff to come to you with solutions, not problems.

If you spend your time solving their problems, you will spend all your time solving problems!
When someone in your team asks you what he should do, even if you know the answer, reflect back the question. Ask him what he would do. Ask him for his opinions. For example, what does he think is the best course of action, and why he thinks it is the best? What are the consequences of this action, for the customer, the business and the team member himself?

When he gives you his answers, empower, support and congratulate him on them. If he feels that he has made the decision, he will have more confidence in himself and be more motivated to do his job even better.

What you are essentially doing here is utilizing the knowledge, skill, experience and motivational power that is already within your team members. Once you leverage on this, you will have a highly motivated team who respect and trust you as their manager.

Eat Foods High in FiberCelery and cabbage have long been touted as "calorie burning" foods, simply because the energy used to digest these foods is greater than the energy, or calories, ingested by eating the foods. Vitamin C is also believed to be a calorie burner and a weight loss booster. Foods that are high in Vitamin C and also high in fiber and low in calories include oranges, tangerines (fresh, not canned), grapefruit (which are 90 percent water!), limes and lemons.
Eat Low-Fat Dairy Products

We bought a new notebook during the PC fair. Asus brand and Model no K401N series. Our 1st choice was Sony while the 2nd choice was Compaq and the 3rd choice was Asus. Our 1st and 2nd choice do not have stock and we ended up taking our third choice.

Is it every home must have a notebook or desktop and Internet connection? YES or NO? Is it a must or necessity? Is Internet part of our daily life? I know mobile phone is a must for everyone, I feel lost if one day I did not carry my hand phone with me.

Most people must have a notebook or desktop and Internet connection at home but for some people it is still an option to have it. Since we are into the IT world it is an advantage to have it, at least the basic one. We can do wonders with the PC and browse for info on the web and do business online and etc… Be IT Savvy.

Organic food not healthier, says British study

LONDON (AFP) - - Organic food supporters defended the benefits of naturally-grown produce on Friday, after a report suggested there are no significant health advantages from it.

In a study published in a US journal this week, researchers at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) found there were no major differences between organic and conventionally-produced food.

"A small number of differences in nutrient content were found to exist between organically and conventionally-produced crops and livestock, said Dr. Alan Dangour, principal author of the study.

"But these are unlikely to be of any public health relevance."

And he added: "Our review indicates that there is currently no evidence to support the selection of organically over conventionally-produced foods on the basis of nutritional superiority."

Organic food, devoid of additives and produced without chemicals such as fertilisers and pesticides, has become an increasingly popular choice on supermarket shelves in recent years.

But it is typically more expensive than regular foodstuffs, and as such has already been hit by the global recession, making shoppers think twice about paying more for organically-grown vegetables and such like.

The study, commissioned by Britain's Food Standards Agency (FSA) and published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, threatens to deal a new blow to the organic food lobby.

But its supporters underlined other benefits of organic produce, notably for the environment.

"Organic farming is a holistic, integrated approach which conserves soils, encourages biodiversity, eliminates greenhouse gas-intensive nitrogen inputs, conserves genetic diversity, and brings more income to the grower," said Andrew Lee of the Sustainable Development Commission.

"And is very probably healthier to boot," he wrote in a letter to the Guardian newspaper.

Molly Connisbee of the Soil Association said that organic farms have on average 30 percent more species and 50 percent more wildlife like birds, butterflies and bees.

"Other environmental benefits are self-evident -- there's less dangerous waste on organic farms and almost no pesticide use. Artificial nitrogen fertiliser is banned in organic farming, so there's less runoff of nutrients that cause algae blooms in coastal waters," she said.

The British study was based on a review of all studies published over the last 50 years relating to nutritional content and health differences between the two kinds of produce.

Last Saturday the curry fish head that I cooked was a failure, hahaha!. Daddy said not nice! (Photo above)

Tomorrow which is Saturday I want to cook a very simple dish - steamed fish head. I hope it will taste good!

The Recipes taken from kuali.com

Ingredients
· Half a big fish head (any fish of your choice)
· 1/2 cup oil
· 3 shallots, finely sliced
· 1 tbsp chopped garlic
· 1 tbsp shredded ginger
· Some coriander leaves for garnishingSauce ingredients (combined)
· 2 tbsp abalone sauce
· 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
· 1/4 tsp dark soy sauce
· 3/4 tsp sesame oil
· Dash of pepper
· 1/2 cup water
· 1 tsp corn flour

Method:

Clean the fish head and keep it whole. Put about 1½–2 litres water in a wok and bring it to a boil.

Add the fish head and simmer over low heat for 15–20 minutes or until the eyes of the fish pop out. Remove the fish head onto a serving plate.

Heat oil in a wok, fry shallots, garlic and ginger until fragrant, crispy and golden. Dish out and set aside.

Pour the combined sauce ingredients into a small saucepan and bring to boil.

Pour the cooked sauce over the fish and garnish with the crispy shallot, garlic and ginger mixture. Top with some coriander leaves.

The recent spate of articles in the papers and magazines highlighting the importance of writing a will should have clued you in to its importance. This is probable in no small part due to the elephantine sum of RM 40 billion reported by the government to have been left by the deceased and unclaimed by their heirs.

The bulk of this sum RM 38 billion, languishes in the form of land and properties, with about a million titles still under the deceased names while the rest is locked up with the registrar of unclaimed monies or the EPF. Though not everyone agrees that one’s assets should be distributed according to one’s wishes after death – Muslims are bound by the Fara’id (Islamic inheritance law) that determines the respective shares of their heirs – most are burdened with concern for their family’s welfare after death.

Before writing a will, remember that you can change the contents of the document as and when you choose. You are also free to dispose of any assets listed in your will. Begin by listing all your assets – property, cash, investment, jewellery or anything of value, including insurance benefits. Second, list down the beneficiaries. This can be anybody you wish to benefit. Then decide on the asset allocation to the beneficiaries – who gets what and how much.

Choosing the right guardians for beneficiaries below 18 years is equally important. When you’re done, keep it in a safe place where it will not be tampered with. Ensure that your executors and beneficiaries know how to locate it.

Important issues when writing a will

Ensure competent executors & Appropriate Guardians
Finding a reliable executor facilitates the ease of distributing your assets, especially when dealing with a complicated will with diversified assets. It is also important to obtain their consent before finalizing a will.

Complete list of all assets
If you fail to account for all your assets or are unwilling to reveal complete information on them, it is unlikely that your beneficiaries / executors will have complete knowledge after you are gone. Your beneficiaries will be disadvantaged.

Allow for taxes or other financial considerations
Many overlook the incurrence of taxes and bills , funeral expenses, legal fees and unpaid bills. Depending on court schedule, the application for the Grant of Representation takes 6 months or longer. It is therefore important to set aside a reasonable sum of cash.

Anticipate for leftover assets.
Even if you think you have accounted for all your assets, you may inadvertently miss out a few. Make provisions to take card of such leftover assets or they will be rendered intestate and left in the care of the state.

Use easily understood language
While it is common for wills to be drafted in legal jargon, many are unclear on specific terms and may use them wrongly

Provide complete names
Being careless in providing accurate or complete names in the will may result in confusion.

Review will when family status changes
Marriage invalidates any will written prior to the event.
Review your will every time there is a major change in your life – marriage, divorce, birth or adoption.

Review will when circumstances of executor / beneficiary / guardian change
If an executor or beneficiary happens to change their marital status or their names or pass away before you

Update will when assets change significantly
Whenever there is an important change in you assets

Always inform executors about will location.
A will that cannot be located is as good as having no will at all. This is one of the leading causes of wills not being executed. Secure your will in a safe location.

It took us 5 hours drive to reach there and so tired taking care of Little Rachel in the car during the journey. She cannot sit still for long hours. I will re-consider to bring her for long distance drive .

This resort is isolated, we need to drive about 45 minutes to reach there. The road is up and down, narrow and surrounded by jungle.

Overall, ermmm… So, So and we will not come back again! Good-bye!

LOS ANGELES - Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop" who once moonwalked above the music world, died Thursday as he prepared for a comeback bid to vanquish nightmare years of sexual scandal and financial calamity. He was 50.

Jackson died at UCLA Medical Center after being stricken at his rented home in Holmby Hills. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital, where doctors continued to work on him.

"It is believed he suffered cardiac arrest in his home. However, the cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known," his brother Jermaine said. Police said they were investigating, standard procedure in high-profile cases.

Jackson's death brought a tragic end to a long, bizarre, sometimes farcical decline from his peak in the 1980s, when he was popular music's premier all-around performer, a uniter of black and white music who shattered the race barrier on MTV, dominated the charts and dazzled even more on stage.

His 1982 album "Thriller" which included the blockbuster hits "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" is the best-selling album of all time, with an estimated 50 million copies sold worldwide.

At the time of his death, Jackson was rehearsing hard for what was to be his greatest comeback: He was scheduled for an unprecedented 50 shows at a London arena, with the first set for July 13.

As word of his death spread, MTV switched its programming to play videos from Jackson's heyday. Radio stations began playing marathons of his hits. Hundreds of people gathered outside the hospital. In New York's Times Square, a low groan went up in the crowd when a screen flashed that Jackson had died, and people began relaying the news to friends by cell phone.

"No joke. King of Pop is no more. Wow," Michael Harris, 36, of New York City, read from a text message a friend had sent him. "It's like when Kennedy was assassinated. I will always remember being in Times Square when Michael Jackson died."

The public first knew him as a boy in the late 1960s, when he was the precocious, spinning lead singer of the Jackson 5, the singing group he formed with his four older brothers out of Gary, Ind. Among their No. 1 hits were "I Want You Back," "ABC" and "I'll Be There."

He was perhaps the most exciting performer of his generation, known for his backward-gliding moonwalk, his feverish, crotch-grabbing dance moves and his high-pitched singing, punctuated with squeals and titters. His single sequined glove, tight, military-style jacket and aviator sunglasses were trademarks, as was his ever-changing, surgically altered appearance.

"For Michael to be taken away from us so suddenly at such a young age, I just don't have the words," said Quincy Jones, who produced "Thriller." "He was the consummate entertainer and his contributions and legacy will be felt upon the world forever. I've lost my little brother today, and part of my soul has gone with him."

Jackson ranked alongside Elvis Presley and the Beatles as the biggest pop sensations of all time. He united two of music's biggest names when he was briefly married to Presley's daughter, Lisa Marie, and Jackson's death immediately evoked comparisons to that of Presley himself, who died at age 42 in 1977.

As years went by, Jackson became an increasingly freakish figure a middle-aged man-child weirdly out of touch with grown-up life. His skin became lighter, his nose narrower, and he spoke in a breathy, girlish voice. He often wore a germ mask while traveling, kept a pet chimpanzee named Bubbles as one of his closest companions, and surrounded himself with children at his Neverland ranch, a storybook playland filled with toys, rides and animals. The tabloids dubbed him "Wacko Jacko."

"It seemed to me that his internal essence was at war with the norms of the world. It's as if he was trying to defy gravity," said Michael Levine, a Hollywood publicist who represented Jackson in the early 1990s. He called Jackson a "disciple of P.T. Barnum" and said the star appeared fragile at the time but was "much more cunning and shrewd about the industry than anyone knew."

Jackson caused a furor in 2002 when he playfully dangled his infant son, Prince Michael II, over a hotel balcony in Berlin while a throng of fans watched from below.

In 2005, he was cleared of charges he molested a 13-year-old cancer survivor at Neverland in 2003. He had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him, and of engaging in strange and inappropriate behavior with other children.

The case followed years of rumors about Jackson and young boys. In a TV documentary, he acknowledged sharing his bed with children, a practice he described as sweet and not at all sexual.

Despite the acquittal, the lurid allegations that came out in court took a fearsome toll on his career and image, and he fell into serious financial trouble.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born Aug. 29, 1958, in Gary. He was 4 years old when he began singing with his brothers Marlon, Jermaine, Jackie and Tito in the Jackson 5. After his early success with bubblegum soul, he struck out on his own, generating innovative, explosive, unstoppable music.

The album "Thriller" alone mixed the dark, serpentine bass and drums and synthesizer approach of "Billie Jean," the grinding Eddie Van Halen solo on "Beat It," and the hiccups and falsettos on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'."

The peak may have come in 1983, when Motown celebrated its 25th anniversary with an all-star televised concert and Jackson moonwalked off with the show, joining his brothers for a medley of old hits and then leaving them behind with a pointing, crouching, high-kicking, splay-footed, crotch-grabbing run through "Billie Jean."

The audience stood and roared. Jackson raised his fist.

By then he had cemented his place in pop culture. He got the plum Scarecrow role in the 1978 movie musical "The Wiz," a pop-R&B version of "The Wizard of Oz," that starred Diana Ross as Dorothy.

During production of a 1984 Pepsi commercial, Jackson's scalp sustains burns when an explosion sets his hair on fire.

He had strong follow-up albums with 1987's "Bad" and 1991's "Dangerous," but his career began to collapse in 1993 after he was accused of molesting a boy who often stayed at his home. The singer denied any wrongdoing, reached a settlement with the boy's family, reported to be $20 million, and criminal charges were never filed.

Jackson's expressed anger over the allegations on the 1995 album "HIStory," which sold more than 2.4 million copies, but by then, the popularity of Jackson's music was clearly waning, even as public fascination with his increasingly erratic behavior was growing.

Jackson married Lisa Marie Presley in 1994, and they divorced in 1996. Later that year, Jackson married Deborah Rowe, a former nurse for his dermatologist. They had two children together: Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., known as Prince Michael, now 12; and Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11. Rowe filed for divorce in 1999.

Jackson also had a third child, Prince Michael II. Now 7, Jackson said the boy nicknamed Blanket as a baby was his biological child born from a surrogate mother.

Cardiac arrest is an abnormal heart rhythm that stops the heart from pumping blood to the body. It can occur after a heart attack or be caused by other heart problems.

Billboard magazine editorial director Bill Werde said Jackson's star power was unmatched. "The world just lost the biggest pop star in history, no matter how you cut it," Werde said. "He's literally the king of pop."

Jackson's 13 No. 1 one hits on the Billboard charts put him behind only Presley, the Beatles and Mariah Carey, Werde said.

"He was on the eve of potentially redeeming his career a little bit," he said. "People might have started to think of him again in a different light."

Michael Jackson is dead. He was only 50 years old, a milestone age. He just celebrated the 25th anniversary of "Thriller," the best-selling album of all time, and re-released it in February.He was scheduled to start his show run in London in a few weeks.

Maybe Michael's career had reached its peak, but I was not convinced that he was done with music. When he turned 50 last August, I did a series of interviews with radio stations. All of the DJs asked me if I thought Michael Jackson could make a comeback. They wanted to know if he could get past the controversies that dominated his news coverage over the last 10-plus years. My answer was a matter-of-fact "yes."

People often underestimate the power of music, and the effect that it has on us. We sometimes forget how a great song with a feel-good message lifts us up, and makes us smile and remember the place we had the most fun dancing to it and with whom.
Michael Jackson is one of the few artists in the history of the art form to be able to take one song, like "Billie Jean," and reach people of all age groups, races, and nationalities.
Michael has done this time and time again for decades, as both a solo artist and member of The Jackson 5.

Rick Sanchez, a floor manager at the popular Amoeba Music in Hollywood, says that his staff was "equally shocked" when they heard the news of Jackson's passing. "A lot of people are buying his music which usually happens in these situations," Sanchez says, referring to the breaking news of a musician's death.

Sanchez adds that all of Jackson's music always sells well at his location.
Rosemary Jean-Louis, a Michael Jackson fan and blogger from Atlanta, is nervous, hoping the news reports that Jackson has died are not true. "I don't want to believe it because it's Michael Jackson," Jean-Louis says. "He has been the guy considered invincible who always seems to come back. He is only 50. He was on the verge of such a big comeback with his concerts. No matter what he's gone through or what the crazy circumstances and dark period of his life with that poor trial-that taken aside-he is one of the musical geniuses of our times, truly the King of Pop."

I never learned to do his moonwalk dance move, but like everyone else, I was blown away when I saw him unveil it on Motown's famous 25th anniversary TV special in 1984.
I was too shy of a kid to get one of the red-and-black stripped jackets like the one he wore in the "Thriller" video, but I thought it was cool.

I did, however, have an afro Jheri curl in 1979, when Jackson released his album "Off the Wall," which included jams like "Don't Stop ‘til You Get Enough" and "Workin' Day and Night." I was 10, and whenever the high school girls on my block told me that I was cute and looked like Michael Jackson, I blushed and took it as a huge compliment.

My 6 1/2-year-old twins know and love his music as do the rest of us. This will never change.
I know he had been dealing with a lot these last few years. I hope that at the time of his passing he was in a happy place. Reportedly, he had been rehearsing in Los Angeles for the last two months, preparing for his London dates. His 50-year-old life may have been short, but it was impactful. His accomplishments are tremendous.

I offer my sincere condolences to his children, parents, siblings, and other family members, and to his friends and fans.

Useful tips to help your kid along as she learns to fall back to sleep on her own

DO maintain a daily schedule with a regular bedtime and routine. Remember no stimulating TV shows or video games just before bedtime. Save your kid’s favourite relaxing activities for bedtime.

DO try and set time limits for pre-bedtime routines and ensure that these limits are consistent and enforced.

DO encourage independent play during the day to help with separation anxiety.

DON’T give in if your kid protests that she is not sleepy yet. If you do so, you’ll just each her to resist even more next time.

DON’T do away with her daytime nap or keep her up late. An overtired child may wake up more often at night.

DON’T run to her immediately during the night. Give her a moment to see if she falls back to sleep on her own.
